After working in Meituan for half a year, I would like to share my experience.
Long-term high-pressure work, the salary is not very high.. Usually not busy, but the activities reported to the headquarters are indeed difficult, especially in the city where I live, which has a high market share. . .
Some of the headquarters’ tasks are very unreasonable. Even in a city like ours with such a high market share, we still try our best to get merchants to organize events.
There are also problems with merchants who need to make corrections. For example, I have a newly opened milk tea shop with reasonable prices, self-delivery, and no delivery fees. It beats all the milk tea shops, but many milk tea shops have a sharp drop in sales! How can I correct this? Can I guarantee that every merchant has orders? All business is good. No problems! !
I think for a city like ours, we should do more offline C-end promotion instead of blindly asking merchants to hold those big events. We should let merchants form their own ideas and let them make their own choices.
Perhaps Meituan Waimai’s parent company’s pursuit of performance growth is a good way to tell a story in the stock market.
However, this planned economic model cannot take care of all cities and does not distinguish the actual conditions of different cities.
I think I need to take a break. I am a little scared when I see WeChat now. Either this merchant comes to me to complain about delivery problems, or they come to me to complain about the huge promotion. These are the issues I have to deal with every day. In fact, I rarely have the opportunity to chat with merchants about something more nutritious.
In fact, I also have many merchants who have a sense of autonomy. If there are activities, they will basically sign up according to their own needs. Why do I need to intervene in the normal competition in this market?
I thought this job was mainly to provide maintenance for the merchants, but ended up helping them make decisions. I felt that many activities were unnecessary.
